Today, we would like to announce two changes to our Vainglory roster, which has been part of the club since August 2015, when we ventured into the exciting world of mobile esports. Back then, our goal was to challenge for the European title, but the recent results and performances showed that the team had reached a plateau and that roster changes were needed for it to reach the desired heights.
We are welcoming Kévin “REDemption” Khuy (Lane/Support) and Miron “majestiC” Beqiraj (Lane/Jungler) back to our ranks after they previously represented G2 Esports when we had two Vainglory rosters. At the same time, we are parting ways with Tim “Reddix” Schäfer and Tuan “Tesfaye” Anh Dinh, whom we would like to thank for their services to the club and wish the best of luck in the future.
Misa “Face” Kojic, the team’s manager, gave the following statement about the double swap:
“The team felt that, after ten months and semi-final exits in the last two tournaments, changes had to happen to close the gap on the other top teams. With these two new players, the versatility and potential of the team are endless. Since they can play multiple positions, it will be impossible to predict who is going to play and on which position.”
The new roster will be making its first appearance for G2 Esports this weekend, in Evil 8, a new tournament series introduced by Vainglory developers Super Evil Mega Corp that will see the top eight teams in Europe go head-to-head in single-elimination brackets over the course of two season splits.
