G2 Esports is delighted to announce that it has joined the World Esports Association (WESA) as one of its founding members, alongside seven other premier esports clubs: fnatic, Natus Vincere, EnVyUs, Virtus.pro, FaZe, mousesports and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Created by ESL, WESA is an inclusive organisation that will strive to regulate the competitive scene, which continues to grow at a frantic pace, by creating a structure to oversee standardized tournament regulations, player representation and revenue sharing for teams.
After several months of negotiations, we are thrilled to see WESA finally come to life, and we believe that the organisation will help to shape the future of esports by creating a healthier and stabler environment for teams, players and fans.
G2 Esports’ CEO, Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago, gave the following statement about joining WESA:
“Despite being a very young club, G2 Esports has historically shown fantastic results in many different areas. We are honored to have helped to found something that has the ambition to contribute to making esports a sustainable, reliable and balanced ecosystem.”
