G2 Esports today announces a partnership with Newzoo, a leading research firm specialized in videogames, esports and mobile intelligence. With a decade’s experience and offices in Amsterdam, San Francisco and Shanghai, Newzoo provides key data on the dynamic and ever-growing videogame market, which is invaluable to esports clubs.
G2 is one of the first five organisations to be part of Newzoo’s Esports Partnership Program, alongside Immortals, LGD-Gaming, fnatic and Natus Vincere. The focus of the program will be on engagement with endemic and non-endemic brands, using Newzoo’s Esports Consumer Insights, which uses research data gathered in 27 countries and among the clubs’ fan communities. With Newzoo’s data on key trends within the videogame industry, G2 Esports will be better equipped to make strategic decisions and ultimately grow its business.
Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago, G2 Esports’ CEO, commented on the partnership with Newzoo, saying: “Esports is growing at a fast pace. However, to monetize effectively, ‘fast pace’ is simply not factual or accurate enough to be called ‘a measure’. Data makes our industry tangible, understandable, and real. Working with industry leaders has been the goal of G2 Esports from day one. Partnering with Newzoo will provide us with the tools to make our sales efforts more effective.”
Newzoo CEO Peter Warman gave the following statement about the firm’s Esports Program: “With the market maturing, there is an increasing demand for reliable market intelligence to make strategic, investment, and marketing-driven decisions. This applies to both the companies within the esports scene as well as companies seeking to enter the arena. We share a vision, ambition, and feeling of responsibility with our partners to actively contribute to the maturity of the market in general and the involvement of large consumer brands in particular.”
