Our Hearthstone talent Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk has been nominated for Redbull’s Esports Player of the Year award. The Dutch player faces competition from the likes of Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok (League of Legends), Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev (Counter-Strike) and Chu “Shadow” Zeyu (Dota 2) for the honour, which will be determined by community vote.
Thijs has excelled in 2016, winning a number of international competitions, including the Curse Trials, the Europe Spring Championship and Esport Superstars. He also made history by attending his second World Championship in a row.
“With major wins at the HCT Spring Championship, The Curse Trials and a runner-up position at Seat Story Cup V, Thijs has proven that he can perform at the highest level and I’m certain his eyes will be firmly fixed on the 2017 Blizzcon Trophy,” Cernan “Excoundrel” Lowe told Redbull Esports.
