As a recent esports title, Vainglory has a competitive scene that is not clearly shaped yet and is thus filled with untapped resources of talent, just waiting for the right opportunity. When we ventured into this game, we knew that we had in our hands a very strong team with a lot of potential, and we were absolutely right.
Despite getting the No. 12 seed, our Vainglory team was able to come out on top of the biggest European online tournament held to date, the VGL Season One Qualifiers. In a single-elimination bracket, anything can happen, but our team proved it is the strongest in Europe and moved past all opponents that stood in its way.
As a result of this achievement, our team has secured a spot at the Vainglory International Premier League, which will take place later this year, in South Korea. It is the most prestigious event of its kind, and our team will be there, flying G2.Kinguin’s colours. Below you can find an infographic about the team’s campaign in the qualifier:
We are also pleased to announce that our Jungle Carry David “DarkPotato” Süßlin was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the EU qualifiers after displaying “extreme versatility in his mastery of heroes” in the grand final, against R3D Chimaera. Congratulations!
