Blizzard announces $1,2 million HotS world championship

Blizzard has announced its first world championship for Heroes of the Storm, with offline finals at Blizzcon, where $500,000 will be on offer.

Blizzard announced on Thursday its first world championship for Heroes of the Storm. A whopping $1,2 million will be up for grabs throughout the season, which will culminate with the offline finals at Blizzcon, in Anaheim, on November 6th-7th, where the top eight teams from around the globe will compete for $500,000 in cash prizes.

This is massive news for Heroes of the Storm, which is scheduled for release on June 2nd, and for the game’s evergrowing competitive scene. Last month, our HotS team finished second at PGL Champions of the Storm, the first major offline event be held in Europe.

Two teams will represent the European region at Blizzcon. Between June and August there will be monthly qualifiers that will lead up to the European Championship, where the two finalists will secure spots at the event in Anaheim. Keep checking our website and our social media platforms for all the latest news about our team as they will try to qualify for this historical event.
