From the 18th to 22nd of April, the French port of Marseille was buzzing with Counter-Strike action as the international CS:GO super stars descended upon the South of France. Le Dôme de Marseille became home for 16 teams competing for the DreamHack Masters Marseille trophy, the first French event of such caliber.
This event was the first test for the new G2 Esports line-up with NBK- as an in-game leader and Mixwell taking his place on the team’s main roster for a trial period. However, despite not playing at the moment, our former in-game leader shox joined the jolly CS:GO frenzy on Saturday to cast one of the quarter-finals in French as well as meet the fans at the G2 Esports and paysafecard booth. Despite our short tournament run, the support we’ve received from fans and the crowd that came to cheer our players at the meet and greets was extremely kind and brought us many happy moments.
As usual in the CS:GO community, it was extremely difficult to predict winners and losers at the very start and there was no lack of ups and downs in Marseille. The incredible conclusion awaited the fans in the Grand Final where Na’Vi’s s1mple put in a spectacular individual performance. This, unfortunately for Na’Vi fans and the excited crowd, was not enough to take even one game from the Danish powerhouse Astralis. We invite you to relive the event by the numbers, enjoy our DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 Infographic!
