G2 wins Rocket Royale

G2 Esports’ Rocket League squad won the 24-team Rocket Royale last weekend in convincing fashion, which will come as a timely boost ahead of the start of season 3 of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).

The Rocket League scene is brimming with enthusiasm! As we near the start of the third edition of the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS), teams take part in several online tournaments to prepare for the upcoming season and to ensure that, once the league starts, they are in top shape!

Last weekend, Rocket League Central hosted its latest Rocket Royale tournament, featuring over 50 teams across two regions, Europe and North America. Following up on some impressive results earlier in the month, G2 Esports had an incredible run, reaching the final without losing a match in the second group stage and in the playoffs before disposing of Denial 4-0 in the title decider in convincing fashion.

With this level of performances from the team, now boasting Cameron “Kronovi” Bills, Jacob “JKnaps” Knapman and Dillon “Rizzo” Rizzo, expectations for the new season are certainly high! Featuring three regions and an increased prize pool of $300,000 RLCS will kick off on March 4th with the first open qualifier.
