Loord hired as CS:GO team coach

We are delighted to announce that Polish legend Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski has been hired to coach our CS:GO team, which will be looking to qualify for ESL One Cologne later this month.

Gamers2 takes great pride in always being on the look-out for the best talent out there. We strongly believe that, in order to achieve greatness, we need to be surrounded by people who are prepared to pull out all the stops. That is why today we are delighted to announce a tremendous reinforcement for our CS:GO team.

We are not talking about a player here. At least not one who is currently active. Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski will be coaching our team as it bids to qualify for ESL One Cologne, the upcoming major event hosted together with Valve.

For those who do not know him, Cybulski was part of the ‘Golden Five’, one of the most iconic Counter-Strike lineups of all time, and won several international titles, including three WCGs, two ESWCs, one WEG e-Stars and one IEM World Championship, throughout his career. When he announced last month that he was retiring as a player, we approached him as we believe his experience and vision will take our team to the next level.

Unfortunately, this means that we are parting ways with Sebastian “dArk” Babiński, whom we would like to thank for his service. Everyone at the club wishes him luck and continued success for the future.

Here is what Cybulski had to say about joining Gamers2:

“After stepping down from activity, I was looking at other options to stay involved in the community. I have been talking to the Gamers2 guys about coaching them for a long time, but since I was still playing that was not possible. This is going to be something new for me, a new chapter in my career. I will do my best to improve their tactical game. They are very talented players with a lot of potential, but they lack experience, and that is something that I will try to bring to the fold. I hope we will have a great time working together! I’d also like to thank Gamers2’s organization for this opportunity.”

Our CS:GO team captain, Paweł “innocent” Mocek, gave the following statement about the new coach:

“We are happy to announce that from this day on we will work with Loord as a coach. Hopefully he will bring a lot of freshness to our team and help us especially with our Terrorist strats and communication. We feel this is something we really needed, especially with the ESL One Cologne qualifiers just around the corner. We would like to thank dArk for these 2 months of cooperation and wish him good luck in the future!”

You will be able to see Cybulski coaching our team later this month at the offline qualifier for ESL One Cologne, on July 25-26. Before the event, which will feature 16 teams from all over Europe, our players will undergo a week-long bootcamp at Buddaplay, in Warsaw, to fine-tune their strategies for this exciting tournament!
