Thijs, G2 scoop GosuAwards

Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk has been named the Best Player of the first half of 2016 by GosuGamers’ panel of experts and community, while G2 Esports has won the award for the Best Team during that same period.

Our Hearthstone player Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk has been named the Best Player of the first half of 2016 by GosuGamers. The Dutchman won the award determined by a group of experts and also the fan vote award, holding off competition from teammate Dima “Rdu” Radu and from other players like Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen and Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert.

Thijs began the year superbly by winning the Curse Trials. Later on, he made history by becoming the only player in the world to win two regional championships as he came out on top of the the Europe Spring event, this way qualifying for the World Championship for a second time.

Our team’s strength has also been acknowledged as we have won the ‘Best Team Awards’ given by a panel of experts and by the community. According to GosuGamers, our roster “shows no sign of slowing down” and, when you add Dima’s second DreamHack title to Thijs’ European crown, our title of best team in the scene “can hardly be questioned.”

Below you can find the community vote results with the top three finishers in both categories:
