Thijs wins China Top

Our Hearthstone player Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk won his second title of the month after finishing in first place at China Top, a $50,000 invitational tournament with four elite players.

What an amazing month for G2 Esports this has been! In addition to our Counter-Strike team’s qualification for the ELEAGUE Major, our Hearthstone player Thijs “Thijs” Molendijk won the 2016 edition of China Top, an invitational tournament held in Shenzhen with $50,000 up for grabs.

Thijs started out by defeating Zhang “lovelychook” Bohan of China in the first round of the tournament. He then took on Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh in the grand final, edging out the Ukrainian player in an exciting series that went to all seven games.

This is Thijs’ second tournament victory in just a few weeks, after he also took gold at the Esport Superstars, in Neumünster, Germany, at the start of the month.
