Our Hearthstone talent Thijs “ThijsNL” Molendijk has been named as the GosuGamers Player of the Year after enjoying a fantastic 2015, when he enhanced his credentials as one of the game’s finest with top performances week in, week out, in both online and offline tournaments. The European champion claimed 30 per cent of the community vote, edging players like Ryan “PurpleDrank” Murphy-Root and Sebastian “Ostkaka” Engwall to the award.
“After learning how to maneuver the new Conquest format, ThijsNL went on to maintain terrific win-rates, hitting close to 86 per cent in his prime. At press time, he’s the Hearthstone player with most games on record and with the seemingly unreachable record of 1453 GosuRanking points. He’s the living proof that it’s not the trophies which make the legends,” GosuGamers wrote.
Our Hearthstone squad scooped the award for Team of the Year with over 50 per cent of votes as ThijsNL, Dima “Rdu” Radu and Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy all produced great individual results, which were only topped by the team’s sensational victory in the $250,000 Archon Team League.
A special mention goes to our Chief Gaming Officer, Jakub “Lothar” Szygulski, who assembled the Nihilum roster, which now plays for G2. With such fantastic players in the squad, it is easy to see why Nihilum won the award for the best transfer coup of the year.
