The draw for the group stage of the the 2016 League of Legends World Championship will take place on Saturday at 8.00pm (Central European Summer Time). The 16 teams who are featured in the draw are split into three pots, which are based on the Mid-Season Invitational results and season performance. G2 Esports is one of the teams in pot 2, along with heavyweights like SK Telecom T1, CLG and Royal Never Give Up.
Each group will have one team from pot 1, two from pot 2 and one from pot 3. It is worth mentioning that no side can be drawn against another team from the same region. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages, which will feature a single-elimination, best-of-five format.
